It snowed a bunch here today. It won’t stick around – well, probably not – but it’s definitely a heads up that winter is coming to my neck of the woods. Snow is a pretty big theme around here. Fellow Canadian clayer Carolyn Good makes her snowflake canes more or less like I do mine, with six “petals” around a centre and then packed with background colour. It’s a really good starter snowflake cane.
I’m going to try Wanda Shum’s papercut snowflake cane, which uses the “papercut” as 1/2 of each petal in the snowflake. Two halves, makes an equilateral triangle and six of those makes a hexagon cane.
* a bunch of snow was about 5cm of wet, sloggy stuff that made driving miserable and soaked right through my shoes.
