Alcohol Inks and Foil Crackle on Clay

September 30, by Elaine Robitaille. 2 Comments

crackletutorial

A nicely crackled decoration is one of the prettiest ways to make an interesting surface on your clay pieces. Ludmilla shares a video on the process, using a combination of alcohol inks and metallic foils. Her channel has a sweet stack of other instructional videos and if you’d like to support her work, she has a Patreon account where she releases her newest videos to.

Subtitles would have helped. I am not familiar with all of the products that you are using. What do you use it for? do you bake it??

Hi Mary! If you comment on Ludmilla’s youtube video she’ll likely be able to answer you. When I do a similar technique I use renaissance metal leafs / foils and Adirondack alcohol inks which I got at Michaels in the clay section and scrapbooking sections respectively.
