Tutorial: Costume Horns from Clay

September 21, by Elaine Robitaille. 1 Comment

Whether it’s Halloween or a good cosplay event, a little bit of costume can be fun. Tiny decorative horns are an easy accessory to do – you could make animal ears or antennae just as simply and this tutorial covers it perfectly. This tutorial is done with Fimo Air, an air drying clay, but you could build the horns out of regular oven bake clay if you’d prefer. You would then use a strong glue like E6000 Craft Glue  to hold the horns to the felt pads on the clips.

Looking for air-drying clay? We highly recommend Das Air dry clay, we have been using this product for over 30 years. Check out their Das White Air drying clay and their Terracotta Air drying clay version for a natural pottery feel. For larger crafts we recommend buying your air drying clay in bulk

I would have never thought to make horns from clay, but then again I didn’t know air-drying clay existed! That’s really cool. Thanks for sharing!
