I get teased by family and friends for making my ornaments beginning in early spring. I buy supplies for them at the Boxing Day sales. And every year I’m actually a little closer to prepared for holiday sales and gifts. It turns out my claying friend Anita is of the same mind. She posted about her preparations for the holiday season including a bit about her Kokopelli ornaments and some of her techniques. It’s worth a browse!
Also, I’m not as organized as Anita but I’ve been doing this longer and clay doesn’t go bad – many of the ornament series I make with the intention of using them in one year get used for the next. Now it appears I begin early but, really, it started as running a few months late!

Thanks so much for your lovely words. You have been my mentor for a long time and I’m in awe of you in many ways……not the least that you cleverly purchase your supplies at Boxing Day Sales and have already begun your holiday ornaments by early spring!
