I was looking for ideas for signposts in my fairy garden set up and realized a lot of the polymer clay herb marker tutorials would scale well for this. This tutorial from Jessica of ContemporaryDomestics uses thin dowels for the markers – skewers would work, too, I bet – but you could scale down to toothpick size for your tiny garden signs.
If you don’t have cute miniature letter stamps use a knitting needle to carefully draw letters. You can always trace them on with a marker first before scoring lines with a tool. And if you need an outdoor sealant try waterbased Varathane’s outdoor formula. It works like a charm.

I do not have a green thumb at all, in fact, I have been known to ruin a plastic plant (long story) but I do love how calm and serene it can be working in a quiet garden.
