A big part of what got me going with polymer clay was the potential for very, very cool beads. At the time, I hadn’t really found clay online and had a book from the library and one from the book store to play with. I made a LOT of marbled clay beads (and they were lovely) and a LOT of very basic cane slice covered beads. All round.
By the time I got online and stumbled on helpful tutorials and instructional materials on other shapes I had been making clay beads for years. I wish I had stumbled on some of these earlier and worked through some of these lessons. Amaco has good stuff like this primer on bead shape basics on their site.
