Pearls of Wisdom

June 4, 2008 |

Polymer clay flowers and pearl necklace by Barb Fajardo.

The Art Bead Scene is hosting a new monthly challenge for June.  The theme this month is Pearls of Wisdom.  Along with the chance to be a featured designer, (the latest featured designer is a polymer clay artist!) this month one lucky winner will receive a signed copy of Lisa Kan’s new beading book, Bead Romantic.

So grab those polymer clay beads and your pearls to whip up something to enter!

Or you might use this as a chance to pull out the Pearl Ex powders and try a new technique.  Here are few polymer clay and pearl powder projects to get you started.

Switch plate covers, you could alter this idea to make pendants:

I have to say that Barb is a true artist. I enjoyed her work for quite some time. Her floral beads are great. She also makes the most beautiful lentil beads I have ever seen.

I have never used polymer clay, but after seeing these projects, I will definitely have to add it to my list of things to try!
