One of the adorable things air dry and polymer clay seem to have become trendy for is building tiny succulent and air cactus planters. And why not? Great material to make decorative containers from. This tutorial, by Naomi and Sage of Plaster & Disaster, is for a faux adobe house planter. It’s left adobe white with tiny dowels as traditional wood beam decorations.
They used Original Sculpey which is great for bulk sized projects like this. I would have probably erred on the side of overbaking (and browning the stuff) to give it more strength. You can always touch up the white with paint but clay that isn’t cured breaks and cracks more easily.Looking for air-drying clay? We highly recommend Das Air dry clay, we have been using this product for over 30 years. Check out their Das White Air drying clay and their Terracotta Air drying clay version for a natural pottery feel. For larger crafts we recommend buying your air drying clay in bulk
