Natalie, from Doodlecraft, had a great idea: make Harry Potter style magic wands with her kids. Her project involved prepping a stack of gathered twigs by stripping loose bark, wiping them down and trimming them into good wand shapes. Her and her kids added clay grips and decorations in a variety of colours and then baked their pieces.
I’d probably be ready to add some strong glue after everything baked and the wood dried so that everything stayed together. Don’t feel like gathering twigs? Use chopsticks or dowels and add the twists and bumps to your wand with clay. You can also tuck a crystal, a glass marble or a pretty rock into the clay on your wand for a little extra awesome.
