I used to be a little skeptical about things when I first got really going with clay. One was about just HOW well clay worked with… everything. I had, by that point, melted and wrecked lots of things as I experimented. And a second thing I was skeptical about was if you could get a really glossy surface with liquid clay. I had botched that, too, and was convinced that it was being oversold as a technique.
Years later, and with more experience, I tried films and liquid clay top coats again and voila! It worked as it should. A lot of the films and foils have GREAT attributes and Kato Liquid Clay really did make a fabulous, deep glossy coat even if it took a few horrid messes to figure out. This Debbie Crother’s bead tutorial uses both to demonstrate how you can turn a fairly simple bead into something stunning and glass-like.
I haven’t played around with adding eyelets to things much yet. I’m a bulk bead gal, mostly, so individual cool findings aren’t something I’ve done much with. Still, it’s the perfect finishing touch on this one.
