I’m still on a tiny house kick. This project is a mixed media deal – polymer clay, paint, wooden bases and whatever embellishments you care to use. The tutorial uses white poly clay for the base but if you have a good stash you could make your house base colours the colours you want the house to BE and just paint on the details. Or do it all in clay.
I’m a fan of claying the whole mess but I can agree on using a super fine tip marker for the details. I put a base coat of matte varnish under where I used the marker on these beads so they wouldn’t bleed into the clay over time but that is your choice (even the ones I didn’t do that, haven’t bled yet three years later). The doors and windows are a wider tipped permanent marker and the black detailing are extra fine tip Sharpies. Bits of scrap clay, old blends, Stroppel canes and so on make GREAT tops for houses like this. Marbled or speckled clays make great bases.
