Tutorial: Lightsaber Pens from Polymer Clay

This is a combo of fun and useful. Cover your pen with polymer clay and create a lightsaber. The tutorial steps through how to make the pen and the hilt becomes the pen cap. I’d look for and use glow in the dark clay for an extra touch but the whole deal is pretty cool anyways.

Not all stick pens are compatible and you’ll want to do a test baking before you spend time on the project. Because it bakes at a slightly lower temperature this might be a tutorial for Fimo clays. There’s a knock off brand of stick pen at the dollar store that melts at the temperature I cure my Premo or Kato but only gets soft at the temperature for Fimo. I’ve had good luck with Bic opaque coloured stick pens at any clay temperature but they’re occasionally difficult to find.
