Yes, I love handmade Christmas decorations. Some of that is occupational hazard type area: I’d better like what I do. Some of that is simply because you can get the most custom, interesting, quirky ornaments. Katie Webster offers us a trio of straightforward clay decorations to try: a robin, a Christmas pudding (north Americans… maybe fruitcake?) and a candy cane.
A tip for the candy cane: I like to finish my candy canes with a nice layer of gloss to duplicate the shiny candy look. And, if you want minty smelling canes… add a little peppermint or spearmint extract to your clay as you condition it. They’ll smell for a while.
