Josie, the blogger who shared this tutorial, offers these as religious Easter eggs but I think they’re perfect for anyone. And, as she mentioned, they’d make great word pebbles.
Josie uses air dry clay for the project and makes her armatures from foil. If you’re using air dry clay, you could use styrofoam eggs with a little coat of white glue. I’d probably use the foil and polymer clay though since I have an awful lot of polymer!
To get the attractive bumpy texture that the air dry clay has in polymer clay try rolling the eggs in a little salt – bonus for bumpy salt bits. It washes right out after baking and you have the nice nubbly texture left.
These would make great bowl fillers!
