Marie Segal is one of the grand dames of polymer clay and there are a ton of tutorials of hers out there. I love her canework best and I’ve adopted a lot of the techniques into my own repertoire over the years. This tutorial for delicately coloured and simple 5 petal flower canes is deceptive. The simple colouration means this cane will work best in layers over other colours (particularly if you use translucent for the mix colour). Since the cane is small and constructed simple, there is no background to it which makes it easier to avoid the halo effect from layering your slices.
A simple, backgroundless cane like this is also how I make most of my shaped flower beads or tiny flower slice beads.
