Here’s another take on a “ring dish” made from polymer clay – this coffee table tray from FallForDIY. Depending on the size of your shape you bake on, you could go up to quite a large size with clay. Past 10 or 12 inches in diameter, I’d start looking for a layer of bulk or armature for the inside since big, thin clay will be flexible and require a lot of clay. Even a cardboard or foil form, sandwiched well between sheets of clay would meet the criteria for this.
Make your base colour and inclusions work with your space by using a complementary or neutral colour for the base with accent colours for the details. White with metallic bits would be a good look as well.
