When I teach clay classes to teenagers on up, we usually warm up with roses. Why? Because it’s a fairly simple process that makes a pretty great little rose without any real skills. You can get better at it but even the first timers generally make great roses.
This tutorial (original is in Turkish, English translation here) is very basic but makes a good clay rose.
The ones in the picture above were some I turned into earrings – one of the eternally popular items at craft shows – and were made more like the ones in this tutorial by tanya1.
