One of the requests I had this summer was for little fish beads. I made a small fish cane quickly, turned it into beads and gave those to the customer. Then cursed myself for not photographing the silly thing. It was a goldfish variant on Kim Korringa’s fish canes. So I went to see who else had posted their own takes on Kim’s excellent fish canes (Kim also does just fabulous cat and dog face canes).
Katie from KatersAcres, it turns out, did a pretty good version of the canes and posted some of her results. There’s a few tips in there as well.
One note: Kim Korringa’s tutorial, which Katie links to her in her post, is a complex cane and the directions are more of an overview than a tutorial. You’d want to have a fair amount of familiarity with blends and working with canes before expecting good results with that one.
