This is one of the prettier jewellery dish tutorials. The artist use white Sculpey but you could use Premo in the base colour you want and save yourself the base layer of paint issue.
One of the issues with a textured one side item baked on a former is the other side is difficult to finish as attractively. I was thinking in this case, the damask stamp is great – you could pick one subtle shade and stamp the reverse side. It would give it a little finish and interest without having it compete with the top side.
