Most of the time I work with traditional, oven bake, polymer clay but there’s so many other types of cool clay products out there. One of those is crytal clay which is an epoxy clay used, primarily, in jewellery making. It makes mounting small sparkly pieces very simple because you simply press them in and let the clay set up. The product also adheres fairly well to findings without glue which means you can sort of mount everything in one go.
This bee hive pendant project uses crytal clay but would work equally well with polymer clay since everything could bake. If you were adding plastic chain or acrylic gems, obviously, you wouldn’t bake those and you’d use the air drying / hardening clays like the crystal clay.Looking for air-drying clay?
