I make dainty little ring bowls, adorned with flower canes, for my shows. In fact, they’re easily one of my most popular items. Here’s a dad catch all dish from Jenny of Habitat at Home. She uses an existing bowl as a mold which gives you a nicely finished side and paint to get the colours of choice. You could use whatever clay you’d prefer or whichever colours. Get the kidlets to decorate and make it into a Father’s day gift.
In the comments, they mention fumes from the clay. This shouldn’t happen if you bake at the correct temperature and times but all ovens vary. Bake your work in an old pan or roaster. Use aluminum foil or a lid to cover over. Open the pan outside. It will keep the potential fumes contained.
