Tutorial: Patching Pottery with Clay

It’s no secret: I make tons of decorative items with polymer clay. One of the things I miss the most about polymer clay and like the most about ceramic clay is the making of useful, functional ware. Polymer clay needs a lot of work to be super functional. So finding instructions on how to use it for functional projects is always kinda nifty.

Luann Udell uses a little clay and paint to patch a chip on a favourite bowl in her tutorial here. I’ve used clay to patch gaps on plastic items and to make plugs for furniture (I used a heat gun in that case to set the clay).
