Here’s a simple tutorial for covering flatware and little household items. The author covers how to make the canes, the pattern sheet to use and some steps on how to bake it. I would probably just bake this nestled in corn starch or folded paper like I do most things.
Also, the time she recommends for curing the piece is a little short for my comfort. I would likely at least double and probably triple it even for the thin layers used in this project. As long as your oven temperature doesn’t spike, it will improve the strength of an item meant to be used.
