Ignore the groaner. These are literally spring chickens or tiny bobbleheads. The instructions are pretty brief so if you do this with the kiddos try it on your own first but it’s straightforward: coil a piece of wire around a pencil or dowel, make a simple chicken head and body. Run the spring between the two, leaving a small amount of spring between so the head can bobble.
Old telephone or electrical wire works WONDERFULLY for stuff like this. You can match your wires to your clay colours. And then, voila, spring chickens.
